5 Excuses People Make Why They Will Never Succeed in Their Entire Life
People have been making excuses forever about how they’re not successful. People talk about a lot of different reasons and a lot of excuses. For the most part, I would say they haven’t changed. Maybe they’ve changed with technology, but a lot of it is just about being human. In this article, I’m going to talk to you guys about why some people make excuses about not being successful in their life.
I’m too old
A lot of people seem to think that age is a factor when it comes to being successful. I mean if you look at the logo for KFC, the only time that you ever see Colonel Sanders is when he’s pretty old. I don’t know exactly what's the information about him starting his fried chicken business, but he started it pretty late in his life, not to mention his franchise is all over the world.
Do you wanna be all over the world like him? Do you want to have a multinational, multi-million dollar business? If you do, you could start as late as he did, but I don’t suggest that you do. Just learn about the things that he did and copy them. I mean I don’t think that you should probably open up a fried chicken business, because there are probably too many expenditures that you’re going to have. The point is that whatever business or whatever thing that you’re starting right now, just focus on that. Who knows, maybe you can just do it in a year or do it in five years. Time is not an issue when it comes to being successful
I don’t have enough money
A lot of people say that they don’t have enough money to be successful. If your goal is to hit $1 million, then okay, you might have to invest something. The thing is that some people are just not even investing any money.
You could just use WordPress. As far as I know, it’s free. You could even do a blog if you want to, blogs are free. So what are you waiting for exactly? You could probably even make your own online store if you have a little bit of expertise and some WordPress plug-ins.
If what I said to you sounds like gibberish. Take some stuff that you have in your garage and just go sell it on eBay. Why not? Or even just go onto the free list of things that people are giving away on craigslist, and go grab those in your truck, and sell those. You can raise the money if you want to. Having no money, is probably not even a real excuse anymore
Nobody listens to me
I know what you mean if you say this. Sometimes I get frustrated too because nobody’s listening to me. And maybe it’s because you’re not speaking the same language per se.
I live in Taiwan but I’m from North America. I get imisunderstood daily. And I’m not saying that you need to learn Chinese Mandarin, but you just need to learn what people like.
For example, if you want people to listen to you, maybe you can be funny. Maybe you can provide them with some type of information. The whole thing is that you need to give them some type of value. People are always wondering what’s in it for me.
If you can provide them with that missing piece that they’re looking for, I guarantee they will listen to you. And the best part about it is, because of the Internet, you don’t have to find people that are just in your area to listen to you. The market all over the world is open to you
I don’t know how to use technology
There are so many different technologies right now, that are super low-tech. For example, if you just want to have a channel on YouTube, and you want to teach English, use a whiteboard. Use markers. If you want to open up an English school in South Korea, which is super competitive, you don’t have to use any technology. Just promise the people that you’ll get them to speak English to a certain level, and people will listen to you. Provide them a solution to their problem, with technlogy or not.
You can sell things. I mean probably not door-to-door as they did in the 1960s, but can you use a camera? Can you post something on a classifieds website? OK, then why don’t you just go ahead and post those kitchen utensils that you’re not using anymore?
You don’t have to learn how to program with JavaScript. You don’t need to even be an English teacher online. Just find some super low-tech way that’s suitable for you. You can go with that, and then be successful.
After all, most people are using technology these days. You can be the other person that’s trying to relate to the same type of people who don’t know how to use technology either. Why not start a YouTube channel, where people are super low-tech and learning how to make websites? The world is your oyster
There’s no market for what I offer
Do you know why this is not a good reason? Why don't you just find other people in your demographic. They are your market. Find something that you are passionate about.. You just have to find some other people that are interested in what you’re interested in. Just find more like-minded individuals.
If your niche is not that broad, then you probably might need to find something a little bit more all-encompassing. For example, if you’re interested in aglets, which are those plastic things on the end of shoelaces, you probably won’t find somebody that’s just gonna focus on those. Now if you’re focus is sports shoes for people who have ankle problems, now we’re getting somewhere.
For every excuse that you have not to be successful, whether it be monetarily, or just successful in your life, there’s somebody else who’s been there, done that. Maybe you just need to read about them. Maybe you just need to find somebody else’s story. There are so many different people out there who started with nothing, and I know this sounds super cliché, but there’s something that you can do better than anybody else. And at the sake of sounding like a super motivational speaker, I think that you can do it. You just have to have enough time to focus on the thing that you want, enough patience, and enough motivation, and you can achieve whatever you want. Just go ahead and go for the goal
