Why Teaching English Online is the Best Job

Why Teaching English Online is the Best Job

Why are people in English-speaking countries complaining about having no jobs? Right now, if you have the right skills and the right connections, you can work from home or get a cushy tech job. In this article, I’m gonna be talking about why English teaching is the best job online

No commute

The best part about teaching English online is the fact that you don’t have to commute anywhere. In previous generations, people had no choice about the commute. If you wanted to hold onto your job you had to commute one hour there and come back using another hour of your time. That’s two hours of your life in a 24-hour day.

Instead of using those two hours just to commute to your job, you could use them for learning skills. Go ahead and learn that language that you always wanted to learn. Or if you want to go to the gym, so you can shed some pounds, you can. You can even use that time just to meditate or go to the park if you want to.

Stay home

This other reason may sound like it’s too much related to having no commute. Some people who just want to stay home. Do you want to be a homebody? As long as you have a nice T-shirt or something, you could probably be teaching in your pajamas if you want to. Nobody’s gonna know, nobody cares, if you teach English online.

If you wanna go take care of your kids on your break when you’re staying home, go ahead. If you want to go outside and have a coffee at your favorite coffee shop, just sit there and do nothing, then go ahead. You do whatever you want as long as you’re home, and then you just do the work when you’re supposed to do the work in this job.

Having fun

For some people teaching is not their thing. They would rather just work on the computer by themselves. For me it’s fun. I get to talk to people and express my opinions. Different companies have different rules. Like, you're not supposed to talk about certain topics. You’re not necessarily supposed to be so cozy with your students. I guess it just depends

Variety

Depending on the different apps that you’re using to teach English, you could teach a variety of different students. I’ve thought English to people in Brazil, South Korea, mainland China, Japan, and the list goes on. Everybody’s different, but if you teach people from different backgrounds, and different nationalities, then it’s really interesting. Everybody has different views about things. Like when I was talking to some people from Brazil, they would just smile at me because they are happy to see me. That was refreshing. Or talking to some Japanese students and seeing how diligent they are about waking up at 5 a.m. just to see me teach them English. That’s pretty cool

Work when you want

This is kind of something that a lot of people don’t talk about. Basically, for most companies, you can make your schedule, as long as it is within certain guidelines. For me, I like the fact that I could just work whenever I want. As long as I give my employer a certain framework for my schedule, then they’re OK. So you know if you want to go take a day off in the middle of the week, you can go ahead and do that. It’s basically about flexibility, and you can make the schedule into whatever you want. You can be as busy or as not busy as you want to be.

Conclusion

English teaching online is not all that it’s cracked up to be. Because you’re teaching a lot of different students, you might have to kept up with reports, and different levels. If you’re not teaching one on one, then you’re also going to have to do classroom management, and it’s super hard online.

Some companies will ask you for a certificate, or diploma. Some companies won’t. Because English is the most spoken language in the world, it’s the easiest way to find a job online. You can teach other languages if you’re fluent in them, and best of luck if you know how to speak those languages.

If you’re looking for supplementary income, or to start a whole new venture into working online, English teaching might be for you. Be prepared, make mistakes, but most of all have fun
