Do people even read blogs anymore? —- Yes, here’s why

People sometimes ask me why do you write a blog. What’s the point of writing the blog? People don’t even read them anymore. They look at videos, don’t they? I don’t think so. You know what, blogs are excellent. One good thing about blogs is that you can write them quickly, and people can scan them. They can pick and choose the information they want fast, instead of sitting through a video that somebody edited. You can save a lot of time. Anyway, I will show you that people still read blogs in this article.

For most people, it’s faster to read English than it is to sit through a video

So like I said, people read blogs because it’s easier to sit through a blog than to sit through a video. People want to scan through some things. They want to look at things and pick and choose what they want. A lot of times, what happens with videos, is that maybe the video is too long. They want you to watch a video that is maybe 10 minutes. A busy person probably doesn’t have 10 minutes. But do they have perhaps a minute to look through a blog and then see the things that they want quickly? Maybe you need to figure out a problem. A blog will have some pictures and some instructions. Blogs are for people who don’t have a lot of patience.

When you go on google, you still need to type

So when you go to google something, you don’t use your voice. You type it in. So obviously, people are still typing out their search questions. And at the top of some of the Google results, there are probably some blogs. I know they’re blogs, so they’ll say it was an article or something. But people are still writing these blogs, and maybe you might have some fancy URL or something. Anyway, to look for something on Google, you have to type it out. So the point is that somebody is reading and somebody is writing. That’s the point of blogs.

As long as you use a keyboard, there will be text

People are still using their laptops and their desktops to search for things. Even though I would say probably the majority of young people use their cell phones all the time, there are some people out there who’re still searching through things online using a keyboard. So as long as someone uses a keyboard, somebody will be reading and writing something. You don’t have to feel like this is an outdated technology. I mean, there are also links. Somebody is clicking on links, and someone else is making money through blog affiliate links. That’s a particular example, though. The point is that if you’re writing a blog or reading blogs, you may not have time to look at anything else. If somebody is typing something on a keyboard, then blogs will still exist.

Blog as long as you like

Blogs are great because you can do it anywhere. I mean, you can also look at them from everywhere or write them. Here’s the thing about blogs is that there’s just such a low barrier of entry. Anybody can blog about anything, but the thing is, who is looking at what you’re blogging? You have to have an audience. If you’re more famous as a blogger, people will probably come to your blog. If you have a big reputation, everybody wants to know what you think. Maybe you were interviewed by somebody famous, and you could be on some TV talk show. That’s probably one of the aims of a blogger.

Conclusion

I would say blogging is one of these quirky things that existed at the beginning of the Internet and will still be here when the Internet is done, I guess. People are blogging about things all the time. It’s not just something reserved for stay-at-home moms or something like that. You could have a blog about IT, and you can have a blog about exercise. As long as your blog is good, then it might reach the people that you want. Blogging is still going to be here. I don’t care how fancy your videos are; somebody will be reading blogs somewhere. Thank you for reading this.
