How to behave like a Taiwanese snob. A Foreigner's view on Taiwan I want to start this article by saying that this is a little bit of a tongue-in-cheek sarcastic view of the way I think about Taiwan. Taiwanese people are friendly. There are snobs everywhere in the world, so this article is really about just people's behavior in general, and it’s not to say anything wrong about Taiwan. I love Taiwan. I want to show you guys some of the things that I experience in my daily life in Taiwan. What is a Taiwanese snob? Snobs are everywhere. I would say, probably with regards to Taiwan, that the Taiwanese snobs are a little bit different. It’s kind of like this whole idea that some people think they’re better than other people. Primarily, there’s a particular word in Taipei for people who live in Taipei. Believe it or not, the rest of Taiwan feels that people in Taipei have no idea what’s going on in Taiwan. People in Taipei are just focused on money, so they have no idea what’s goin...

The best way to live in China for a foreigner  I wish I had a blog like this when I first went to China. I first went to China and around 2017 and, I honestly had no idea what I was going to do when I lived there. I got invited by a friend. I was flying by the seat of my pants. There were so many crazy things that happened around me, and I just basically had to deal with the situations. Here’s a brief overview of how I survived and thrived in mainland China 1. Living in China. So I was living in Taiwan at the time, and it was pretty easy for me because I had to take a  30-minute boat over to China in Xiamen. I remember going there the first time and being scared out of my wits. I was invited, and they checked my papers to see who I was. I think it was peculiar because I had never been to mainland China before, so they asked me a bunch of questions. I thought I would be turned back, and they were going to find some weird reason to send me back to Taiwan. They made me swe...

How to live the high life in Taiwan A lot of people ask me why I’m living in Taiwan. Everybody has their reasons for living abroad. After going to Japan and South Korea, I finally picked Taiwan to settle in. It’s hard to explain to other people why some come here to stay. Usually, people come here on a student visa, or they come to work to teach English. After that, they fall in love with Taiwan. I'm going to explain what I mean in a couple of short paragraphs 1. The people of Taiwan are tolerant and welcoming, which makes a living in the country a rewarding experience. I would say that Taiwanese people probably mind their own business. Many things go on in the world, and people here focus on working on what they’re doing. I mean, even if you look at gay marriage, it was a big issue, and now you can do that in Taiwan if you want. I mean, among other things, people are interested in foreigners over here, but if you adapt to the culture, people will leave you alone 2. The quality o...

How to be Successful in Life with These Five Simple Steps Everybody wants to be successful. Because of technology and other distractions, there are so many different things in life right now, and how to become successful has become increasingly unclear. People want to add success in every part of their life.  Here are some tips that I think are very simple to achieve success in your life. 1. Wake up early and start your day with a positive attitude. Early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy, and wise. It’s probably a brainer to wake up early to be more successful in your life. It takes a little bit of discipline to make yourself have a positive mental attitude while you wake up, though. Think about it if you’re groggy from the day before. You haven’t had your coffee yet. Evading trying to have a positive mental attitude takes discipline. How do you do that exactly? You have to start thinking about what you’re grateful for. I’m grateful for my job. I’m gr...
